Born in Plymouth, Massachusetts on August 9, 1954, C. Douglas Lyon spent his childhood summers on the beach in Duxbury MA. Inspired by creative parents and brothers, he developed an early interest in art, music, and nature. After relocating to Cape Cod in the early 1970's, he continued to pursue these interests, eventually developing a line of scrimshaw and jewelry.
Doug's work has been shown in numerous galleries and art shows across the country. Truly a "jack-of-all-trades", he has combined his passion for art and nature with his considerable technical abilities. His natural curiosity, willingness to take risks, and his unique perspective have allowed him to expand the focus of his work to a mixed media approach, always staying attuned to the organic qualities of the materials with which he chooses to work.
